Man dies as landslide buries house in Pokhara



KASKI: A tragic landslide early this morning claimed the life of Bhim Bahadur Thapa, 22, in Pokhara Metropolis-27.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Basant Kumar Sharma, Thapa’s house in Sahelapata was buried in the landslide, which occurred following heavy rainfall in the Pokhara Valley since Tuesday evening.

Kamala Thapa, 50, was rescued alive from the debris.

The rescue operation was conducted by a team mobilized from the Area Police Office in Sishuwa, with assistance from local residents and the Armed Police Force, according to Sharma.
