Gandaki CM Pandey wins vote of confidence

POKHARA: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, Surendra Raj Pandey, has received a vote of confidence of the provincial assembly.

The proposal seeking a vote of confidence tabled by Chief Minister Pandey in today’s meeting of the Gandaki Province Assembly was passed with majority.

A total of 31 votes were cast in favor of the proposal while 28 against it.

Twenty-seven members of the Nepali Congress, two of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, one independent member Deepak Manange and Phanindra Devkota of the Nepal Samajbadi Party, who fought under CPN-Maoist Center election symbol, had cast votes in favor of Chief Minister Pandey.

Gandaki lawmakers of Maoist Center and CPN-UML had chanted slogans at the Province Assembly after Devkota crossed the floor to cast vote in favor of CM Pandey.
