NEPSE rises by 8.90 points, transactions reach nearly Rs 5.5 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw an increase of 8.90 points on Monday, rising by 0.42% to close at 2082.09 points.

Alongside the rise in NEPSE, the market recorded transactions worth nearly Rs 5.5 billion.

By the close of trading on Monday, shares worth Rs 5.49 billion were traded, with 11,634,618 shares changing hands over 71,948 transactions.

On Monday, shares of 314 companies were traded, with 176 companies seeing an increase in share price, 61 companies experiencing a decline, and 9 companies remaining stable.

The Float Index rose by 0.86 points, the Sensitive Index by 0.64 points, and the Sensitive Float Index by 0.37 points.

Among the 13 sectors, 7 saw an increase in NEPSE, while 6 sectors witnessed a decline.

The Non-Life Insurance sector saw the highest increase, rising by 134.88 points, whereas the Hotels and Tourism sector experienced the largest drop, falling by 51.16 points.

Shares of Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower, Trishuli Hydropower, Peoples Power, and Molung Hydropower surged by 10%, hitting the positive circuit breaker.
