TIA to halt operations for 30 minutes today



KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will undergo a temporary suspension of flights and landings for thirty minutes today afternoon.

As per a public notice, the airport will be inaccessible from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

This closure is part of scheduled exercises encompassing air flight, security, medical, and rescue protocols.

During this time frame, the sky surrounding the airport may witness smoke as emergency drills involving fire brigades, security personnel, and ambulance services will be conducted.

These activities align with the standards outlined by the International Civil Aviation Organization and the airport’s emergency contingency plan.
