Fire destroys property worth Rs 20 million in Damak



JHAPA: Last night, a devastating fire near Lifeline Hospital in Damak, Jhapa, caused property worth over Rs 20 million to be reduced to ashes.

The fire originated from a house owned by local resident Prem Bahadur Dhimal and quickly spread to three neighboring houses, resulting in significant damage.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the fire also engulfed the building housing the dialysis facility of Lifeline Hospital, leading to the destruction of medical equipment and accessories.

Hospital Chairman Dr. Muktinath Bhattarai lamented that the dialysis machine was among the equipment rendered dysfunctional by the blaze.

The inferno required a coordinated effort from the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and local residents to be brought under control.

Six fire engines were mobilized to combat the flames and prevent further devastation.
