Govt to deposit two billion rupees to the disaster management fund

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to contribute two billion rupees to the disaster management fund from the balance in the ‘Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund’.

This was decided by the Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday. The government has nominated 25 members to the National Development Council from various district coordination committees, local levels, officials, and individuals of various agencies.

Announcing the decision of the Cabinet at a press meeting today, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma said that the Cabinet has decided to correct the details of the martyrs and publish the names of martyrs who were not included in the Nepal Gazette.

Furthermore, the cabinet has approved the negotiation team and agenda for the Nepal-India Commerce Joint Secretary-level intergovernmental sub-committee meeting to be held in Kathmandu on January 12 and 13.

On a different note, Minister Sharma reiterated that the government is committed to maintaining law and order in the country. The government is serious about the untoward incidents that have taken place in different parts of the country lately, she said.
