Cricketer Lamichhane, found guilty in rape case, to face sentence today



KATHMANDU: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who has been found guilty in a rape case, is likely to face sentence today.

The determination of imprisonment, fine, and compensation for Lamichhane will be decided by Judge Shishir Dhakal’s bench at the District Court Kathmandu.

The Criminal Offenses Penalty Determination and Enforcement Act dictates today as the deadline for specifying the punishment.

As per the provisions, a hearing is set for determining the offense in cases where imprisonment extends to three years or more, following the hearing of arguments from both sides.

The victim from “Gaushala-26” filed a complaint against Sandeep in 2079, at the Gaushala Police Office.
