Govt’s top priority is accessible health services: Minister Paudel

BANKE: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, emphasized that the government’s top priority is to provide health services to the people in an easy and efficient manner.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed building of Bheri Hospital and its MRI service, Minister Paudel reiterated that the government is focused on ensuring accessible health services for all.

He urged hospitals to maximize the use of available resources to deliver these services effectively, stating, “Our first priority is to provide health services to the citizens. We will undertake planned activities to make hospitals more effective and modern, and I expect everyone’s support in this endeavor.”

Minister Paudel also highlighted the importance of adopting necessary precautions and raising awareness for a healthy lifestyle.

He noted that while government hospitals are capable of providing services, they need to focus on improving the effectiveness of their operations.

“Let’s extend services to the citizens by working additional hours if necessary; the ministry will support such efforts,” he added.

The Health Minister acknowledged that while Bheri Hospital is already providing services in a systematic manner, there is still room for improvement.

He assured that the hospital will see an increase in the quotas for doctors and health workers and commended the implementation of an online patient registration system.

During the event, Chief Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital, Dr. Prakash Thapa, briefed the Minister on the hospital’s current condition, challenges, and future plans.

Health Secretary Dr. Roshan Pokharel also expressed the ministry’s commitment to addressing the hospital’s needs and resolving any issues.
