NEA reports accumulated profit of Rs 47.41 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has achieved an accumulated profit of Rs 47.41 billion, according to Managing Director Kulman Ghising.

Speaking at a press conference marking the third anniversary of his second tenure, Ghising noted the significant turnaround in the NEA’s financial status.

“Eight years ago, NEA was facing an accumulated loss of Rs 34.61 billion,” he stated.

Under Ghising’s leadership, electricity consumption in Nepal has seen a significant rise, increasing from 3.32 billion units eight years ago to 10.23 billion units today.
