KATHMANDU: Seventy-eight people have lost their lives so far due to floods and landslides triggered by continuous rain in various parts of the country, with the physical damage exceeding Rs 100 million.
According to the Police Headquarters, from June 10 to the morning of July 9, 90 people have been injured, and five are reported missing due to the flooding and landslides.
Additionally, 381 cattle have perished, 98 cowsheds have been destroyed, and 595 houses have been displaced.
The floods and landslides have also damaged one school, two government office buildings, and swept away 41 bridges.
Furthermore, 161 houses have been submerged, and 116 ropanis of land have been buried by debris.
The Police Headquarters reported that 1,028 disaster-related incidents have occurred due to the incessant rains, resulting in losses equivalent to Rs 101,885,700.
In response, 5,041 police personnel have been mobilized for disaster management during this period.
