KATHMANDU: The hearing of the writ petition filed against the Koshi provincial government by former Chief Minister Kedar Karki has been canceled for today.

The hearing was initially scheduled before a full bench comprising Judges Prakash Kumar Dungana, Sunil Kumar Pokharel, and Abdul Aziz  Musalman at the Supreme Court.

However, Judge Pokharel was previously involved in the hearing of a petition against the then Chief Minister Uddav Thapa of the province, rendering him ineligible to participate in today’s proceedings.

Consequently, the hearing was canceled.

Former Chief Minister Kedar Karki filed the writ petition arguing that the formation of a new government under the provisions of sub-section (5) of Article 168 of the Constitution is unconstitutional.

Karki’s petition demands the removal of the current Chief Minister, Hikmat Karki, and seeks his own reinstatement as Chief Minister.
