UML-Maoist to file claim to form government in Koshi Province

BIRATNAGAR: Responding to Koshi Province Chief Parsuram Khapung’s call to form a new government, the CPN-UML and Maoist Center have jointly filed a petition, contending that Chief Minister Kedar Karki’s dismissal is warranted due to his failure to secure a vote of confidence.

As per the stipulations outlined in clause (5) of Article 168 of the Constitution, Khapung has urged the submission of his claim by 5 pm on Friday (May 9).

Hikmat Karki, the parliamentary party leader of the CPN-UML, disclosed that UML-Maoist is gearing up to present a united claim for the new government this afternoon.

In response to the call, UML has instructed all its MPs to assemble at the Parliament Secretariat by 11 am.

Concurrently, the Maoists have issued a similar directive, summoning their MPs to the Parliament Secretariat.
