HoR Meeting postponed until Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, initially stalled by 15 minutes due to obstruction from the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC), has now been further postponed until Wednesday.

The decision to extend the postponement for a week was made in response to the declaration by the main opposition party, NC, that they would not permit parliamentary proceedings to continue unless a committee was established to investigate the cooperative scandal.

Earlier, the meeting of the NC top leaders had decided to put their demand of probe committee formation for the investigation of the cooperative fraud more firmly.

With no agreement reached on the formation of the committee, the HoR meeting could not reconvene following the brief delay, prompting its postponement until April 10th.
