Nepali Congress disrupts parliament session, calls for cooperative fraud investigation

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), obstructed Tuesday’s parliament session.

NC has been pushing for the establishment of a parliamentary committee to probe a cooperative fraud case, implicating Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

A decision was made during a parliamentary party meeting earlier this morning, emphasizing Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in the fraud.

NC asserts that the government’s lack of responsiveness to their demands places the responsibility for any ensuing consequences squarely on the government itself.
