PM Dahal affirms commitment to good governance, prosperity, and social justice

Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has reiterated the government’s dedication to advancing the agenda of good governance, prosperity, and social justice under the new coalition administration. Speaking at the party’s parliamentary meeting held at Singha Durbar on Saturday, he assured lawmakers that the government is poised to bring substantive change for the betterment of the people. In addition, Prime Minister Dahal informed the parliamentary party about the selection of ministers from the party, highlighting their commitment to realizing the government’s campaign objectives.

In a parliamentary party meeting held on Saturday, PM Dahal discussed the matter with party leaders, indicating his readiness to seek a vote of confidence by the specified date. Furthermore, the party has issued a whip to its lawmakers, instructing them not to leave the Kathmandu Valley in the days leading up to the election of the National Assembly Chairman and the anticipated date for PM Dahal’s floor test.

RSP calls central committee meeting to strategize for upcoming by-elections

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has scheduled a central committee meeting for the upcoming Monday. As per a party official, the meeting has been convened primarily to deliberate on the impending by-elections. The party has already initiated its groundwork for the forthcoming by-election in Illam-2 constituency.

Nagarik Unmukti Party to take action against members joining NC-led Sudurpaschim government

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has announced plans to take disciplinary action against its ministers who have joined the Nepali Congress-led government in Sudurpaschim Province. Three ministers from the Nagarik Unmukti Party, which supports the Dahal-led government at the central level, recently joined the Cabinet of Sudurpaschim Province and were sworn in on Friday. According to Ranjita Shrestha, Chairperson of the party, these ministers made the decision to join the NC-led government without consulting the party leadership.

Nepali Congress enters National Assembly Chair election fray

The Nepali Congress (NC) has announced its decision to participate in the National Assembly Chair election. In a meeting of party officials held earlier this morning at Budanilkantha, the decision was made. The party has further resolved to solicit support from other opposition parties for the election. However, the candidate for the post is yet to be finalized by the party. The position of the NA Chair is presently vacant following the completion of outgoing Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timalsina’s six-year tenure.

NA Chairman election: Candidacy registration on Monday

The registration of candidates for the National Assembly Chairmanship position is scheduled for Monday, March 11. The voting is set to take place on Tuesday, March 12. Urmila Aryal, the Vice-Chairperson of the National Assembly, announced, “After discussions with members of the parliamentary party leaders and the Organizational, Discipline, and Consultation Committee, it has been agreed to schedule registration of the candidates on March 11.”During her tenure as the chair, discussions were held with the leaders, chief whip, chief secretary, and members of the Organizational, Discipline, and Consultation Committee of the party to finalize the five members of the committee.
