KATHMANDU: Bishwa Prakash Sharma, the general secretary of the Nepali Congress, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to maintaining stability in the country, asserting that it will refrain from actions that may lead to instability.

Addressing the fourth assembly of the Nepal Teacher Association of Bagmati Province, Sharma emphasized the importance of providing the current government with an opportunity for a stable tenure.

He underscored that the Nepali Congress is dedicated to advocating for the needs and demands of the general public while upholding its role as a strong opposition party in the parliament.

Sharma also condemned the actions of the CPN (Maoist Center), accusing them of repeatedly betraying both the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML.

He urged parties facing such betrayals to collaborate for the betterment of the political landscape, expressing confidence that unity among such parties would lead to gradual improvement.

It’s noteworthy that the recent formation of a new government, led by an alliance comprising CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UML, RSP, JSP, and CPN (US), has shifted the Nepali Congress from a ruling party to an opposition role.
