Sudurpashchim CM Shah appoints three ministers from Nagarik Unmukti Party

DHANGADHI: Kamal Bahadur Shah, the Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, currently heading a minority government, has appointed three ministers from the Nagarik Unmukti Party on Friday evening.

Chief Minister Shah appointed Ghanashyam Chaudhary, the leader of the parliamentary party of Nagarik Unmukti, as the Minister of Economic Affairs. Khushi Ram Chaudhary has been designated as the Minister without Portfolio, and Indira Giri has taken on the role of State Minister for Land Management.

The oath of office and secrecy was administered to the newly appointed ministers by Province Chief Devraj Joshi on Friday night.

Having lost support from the CPN-Maoist Center and CPN-UML, Chief Minister Shah, affiliated with the Nepali Congress, has now incorporated ministers from Resham Chaudhary’s Nagarik Unmukti party into the provincial cabinet.

Chief Minister Shah is also preparing to include independent parliamentarian Tara Joshi and Khemadevi Bista from the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in the cabinet.

Joshi and Bista are expected to support the government led by the Congress in the province.
