KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary, Gagan Thapa, has emphasized that individuals involved in corruption and fraud cannot be members of the NC.

Speaking at the Kathmandu District Conference of the party today, he underscored the vital role NC must play in championing good governance, both in rhetoric and action.

The General Secretary highlighted the ongoing assault on the constitution in recent times.

“There is an attack on the constitution; obstacles like these keep arising repeatedly, and we have to persistently fight against them,” he stated.

He declared that the party would not shield those engaged in corruption and fraud, ensuring that such practices are not allowed to persist within the NC.

“The guilty will not escape; they won’t become part of Congress. No corrupt individual will receive VIP status anymore,” he declared.

General Secretary Thapa commended Sushil Koirala’s resolute stance and dedication during the constitution-making process.

He stressed the importance of the new generation of leaders learning from the late leader’s values and ethics.
