14 candidates shortlisted for TU Vice-Chancellor position



KATHMANDU: The recommendation committee responsible for selecting the Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU) has prepared a shortlist of 14 candidates, marking a milestone in the university’s history.

This marks the first time the university has embarked on the process of appointing a Vice-Chancellor through an open competition.

Initiating the transparent selection process, Tribhuvan University had earlier announced the call for applications.

A total of 43 individuals had applied for the position.

Following an evaluation, the committee has narrowed down the list to 14 candidates.

The shortlist includes the following names: Kusum Shakya, Keshar Jung Baral, Govinda Subedi, Chitra Bahadur Budhathoki, Gyanendra Prasad Poudel, Tankanath Dhamala, Tirtharaj Khaniya, Narayan Prasad Belbase, Prakash Ghimire, Bejraj Aryal, Mahendra Prasad Sharma, Ram Chandra Basnet, Shivalal Bhusal, and Surya Bahadur Thapa.

The shortlisted candidates are poised to undergo presentations and interviews, bringing Tribhuvan University one step closer to welcoming a leader at its helm.
