Schools closed with rising cold in Mahottari

MAHOTTARI: Three local levels in the district have closed schools in the wake of rising cold.

Ramgopalpur municipality closed schools for four days, while Sonama rural municipality for nine days from Monday.

Similarly, Gaushala municipality decided to shut down schools for a week from today.

They shared information by issuing notices. Chairman of Sonama rural municipality, Bisheshwor Yadav, informed that the schools were closed to prevent health risks to children in view of dipping mercury.

Similarly, Ramgopal municipality mayor Ram Dular Saha said closure of school could help children escape cold-related problems.

Meanwhile, various schools have reported a sharp decline in students’ attendance due to the cold for some days.
