KATHMANDU: The combination of rainfall and thick fog has cast a cold shadow over daily life, posing challenges for the residents in the Terai (southern plains).

According to the Weather Forecasting Division’s report, there is a partial shift in weather patterns in the hilly areas of Koshi Province, while most of the Terai regions remain enveloped in clouds and fog.

Despite the persisting fog in the Terai-Madhesh area during the morning hours, the Weather Forecasting Division has anticipated gradual improvement as the day progresses.

The Terai is grappling with the adverse effects of dense fog over the past few days.

Authorities have issued a cautionary advisory, urging vigilance, as the intensifying cold in the region may impact health, transportation, and air traffic.

This afternoon, the hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and Koshi regions are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions.

The Division has predicted predominantly clear weather in the remaining areas.

In the high hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali, there is a chance of light snowfall at isolated locations later today.

Tonight, partially cloudy conditions are forecasted for the hilly areas of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Additionally, there is a possibility of light snowfall in specific high hill and Himalayan areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.
