Kathmanduites to receive Melamchi Drinking Water starting today



KATHMANDU: Starting today, water from Melamchi will be diverted to the Water Treatment Center at Sundarijal in Kathmandu.

This decision was reached during talks between the Melamchi Struggle Committee and the Minister of Drinking Water, Pradeep Yadav.

Minister Yadav visited Melamchi in Helambu Rural Municipality to engage with the struggle committee and local stakeholders.

He led a team that committed to delivering Melamchi water to Kathmandu residents before Dashain.

Following negotiations, it was agreed that the legitimate demands of the Committee would be addressed, and water from Melamchi would begin flowing to Kathmandu today.

During the discussions, Minister Yadav expressed his gratitude for the positive support and cooperation from the representatives of Helambu Rural Municipality.

He reaffirmed his commitment to providing clean, safe water to the people of the Kathmandu Valley year-round while also addressing local development issues and supporting flood victims.
