Lalitpur Mayor praises municipal police for citizen-friendly activities

PATAN: Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan has lauded the municipal police for their citizen-friendly approach and positive activities.

Speaking at an event to release the book Municipal Police in Published Photos, Mayor Maharjan highlighted the admirable work of the municipal police in implementing city decisions without disputes.

“We operate under a policy of zero tolerance for protecting both our mortal and immortal heritages.As the saying goes, a picture speaks a thousand words. The photos in this book illustrate the many accomplishments of our municipal police. Their performance has been both successful and controversy-free,” Mayor Maharjan stated.

He urged other metropolitan and municipal authorities to emulate Lalitpur’s approach to decision implementation and dispute resolution.

Chief District Officer Tulasi Bahadur Shrestha acknowledged the crucial role of the municipal police in enforcing Lalitpur’s decisions and managing disasters.

Film producer and director Prakash Sayami noted that publishing photos of the police’s activities reflects confidence in their work.

He emphasized that public support for the municipal police is strong when they act with integrity, praising their contributions to the protection and preservation of Lalitpur’s heritage and culture.

Chief Administrative Officer Rekha Das Shrestha suggested that the book detailing the municipal police’s activities will be valuable for future generations.

Municipal Police Chief Sitaram Hachhethu reported that the city’s hotline (1131) receives up to 55 complaints per hour.
