Kathmandu metropolis honors Women’s Volleyball Team with Rs 100,000 each

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has awarded Rs 100,000 each to the members of Nepal’s Women’s Volleyball Team after they secured the runner-up position in the CAVA National Women’s Volleyball League on Wednesday.

Nepal was defeated by India in the finals held in Kathmandu.

The metropolis honored the team members, including the coach, team manager, and therapist, with the cash prize.

Each player received Rs 100,000, while the coach, assistant coach, team manager, and therapist received Rs 50,000 each.

Recipients of Rs 100,000 include Captain Aruna Shahi, Niruta Thagunna, Shantikala Tamang, Saraswoti Chaudhary, Sumitra Regmi, Usha Bhandari, Kabita Bhatta, Kamana Bista, Sangam Mahatto, Safiya Pun, Aarati Subedi, Punam Chand, Pragati Nath, and Salina Shrestha.

Meanwhile, team manager Nilam Singh Bhajracharya, head coach Jagadish Prasad Bhatta, assistant coach Bharat Yadav, and therapist Lokendra Bahadur Kuwar received Rs 50,000 each.

Attending the facilitation event, Mayor Balen Shah praised the outstanding performance of the Nepali team.
