House Committee orders air security probe after fatal crashes

KATHMANDU: The International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) has urged the government to assess the implementation of air safety rules and guidelines.

The committee has mandated the government to investigate air security issues within 15 days and recommend actions against those found culpable.

This directive follows two recent major air crashes in Nepal.

An airplane belonging to Saurya Airlines and a helicopter of Air Dynasty crashed within a two-week interval.

The Saurya Airlines crash resulted in 18 out of 19 fatalities, while the Air Dynasty helicopter crash claimed five lives.
