NC to address issues in foreign employment: President Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has pledged that the party will take initiatives to resolve the problems faced by foreign employment professionals.

In a meeting held today with the newly elected working committee of the Nepal Democratic Foreign Employment Professionals Association, Deuba assured that the Congress would work towards addressing these issues.

President Deuba, who is also a former Prime Minister, expressed his commitment to raising these concerns in parliament.

During the meeting, Chairman of the association, Deepak Thapa, highlighted issues with the government’s policy that requires manpower companies to send 100 workers abroad each year.

He urged President Deuba to take the initiative to review and amend this policy.

Party Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Head of the Party’s Foreign Employment Coordination and Immigration Department Prakash Rasaili Snehi, Congress Central Member Sita Devkota, NC Central Office Chief Secretary and National Assembly Member Krishna Prasad Paudel were also present at the meeting.

Earlier on Thursday, representatives from the Foreign Employment Professionals Association and various party-affiliated business associations met with Labour and Employment Minister DP Aryal to discuss the challenges and potential solutions within the foreign employment sector.
