Chair Oli calls for making UML a decisive force

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairperson and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged party leaders and cadres to develop the UML into a decisive force in national politics.

Inaugurating the seventh convention of the UML’s Kathmandu district chapter today, Chairperson Oli emphasized the need to position the party at the forefront for political stability, development, and prosperity in the country.

Oli praised the Kathmandu chapter for enduring various challenges and commended the cadres’ role in safeguarding the party during crises.

“We did not secure a two-thirds majority in the last parliamentary election due to conspiracies and intraparty issues,” he remarked, urging the cadres to overcome internal lies and conspiracies and move forward.

Similarly, UML’s Senior Vice-Chairperson Ishwor Pokharel called on the cadres to objectively review the performance of the party’s district chapter.

He stressed the importance of the party delivering results that would win the people’s mandate in the future.

Pokharel noted that there had been no disputes regarding policies or leadership elections within the party, and suggested that the convention proceed based on consensus or healthy competition when selecting party leaders for various party organizations.

Likewise, the party’s Vice-Chairperson Asta Laxmi Shakya emphasized that the people of Kathmandu should bring the UML to the forefront.
