Minister Chaudhary calls for improved management of Bhrikutimandap market



KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens, Bhagwati Chaudhary, conducted an inspection of the Bhrikutimandap market today and directed authorities to enhance its organization and management, as it operates under the auspices of the Social Welfare Council.

Expressing concerns over the vulnerability of the open market, Minister Chaudhary emphasized the necessity for concerted efforts to ensure its systematic operation and mitigate potential risks.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to the market’s welfare, Minister Chaudhary disclosed an allocation of Rs 40 million in the current fiscal year for its management.

She further revealed that the process has commenced to construct semi-permanent structures within the market premises.

Drawing attention to the dilapidated state of the exhibition hall at Bhrikutimandap, Minister Chaudhary underscored the urgent need for its reconstruction and upgrade.

In response to these concerns, Council member-secretary Manoj Bhatta pledged to prioritize the proper management and revitalization of the market area.

Minister Chaudhary’s directives reflect the government’s proactive approach towards enhancing the functionality and sustainability of the Bhrikutimandap market, ensuring its continued contribution to social welfare and economic development.
