KATHMANDU: A vibrant Biska Special Program lit up Bhaktapur Durbar Square on Monday as the city gears up for the renowned Bisket Jatra, set to commence on April 9 this year.
Preparations are in full swing for the nine-day-long festival, steeped in traditional tantric customs, which holds deep cultural significance for the residents of Bhaktapur.
The festival commences four days before the Nepali New Year with the ceremonial pulling of Bhairav’s chariot and culminates in the middle of the Nepali month of Chaitra with the raising of the lingo adorned with a rainbow flag.
