Govt to withdraw bill amending Financial Procedure and Fiscal Accountability Act, 2076

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to withdraw the bill aimed at amending the Financial Procedure and Fiscal Accountability Act, 2076, which was lodged at the federal parliament secretariat.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, informed the media on Sunday about the Cabinet’s decision in this regard, which was made on April 4.
Additionally, the government has decided to establish a dialogue team led by a Joint Secretary at the Finance Ministry to finalize a draft agreement for receiving grants worth Rs 9.45 billion from the International Agriculture Development Fund.

Furthermore, the government is creating two special positions for Deputy Inspector Generals of Nepal Police under the technical category.

The Cabinet has also decided to extend the tenure of the Honorary Nepali Consul General in California, USA, Rishi Punakhar Dhakal, and the Honorary Consul General to North Rhine, Westphalia, and Lower Saxony, Ram Pratap Thapa.

Minister Sharma stated that the meeting decided to grant permission to use three hectares of national forest to construct a garbage collection, management, and processing center for Narayan Municipality in Dailekh.

Permission will also be granted to use 0.2 hectares of national forest to construct the administrative building of Manhari Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district.

According to the Cabinet decision, Prof Dr. Pashupati Chaudhary will be appointed as the Chairperson of the Ramraja Prasad Singh Institute of Health Sciences Infrastructures Preparation Development Committee, and Dr. Birendra Prasad Yadav will serve as its member.

The meeting also decided to appoint Dr. Gyanendraman Singh Karki as a member of the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Likewise, the meeting decided to revoke the Nepal Drinking Water Corporation Regulations-2080 and hand it over to the relevant ministry, and to approve the Mega Project Implementation Monitoring and Facilitation Directive, 2080.

As per the decision, the government will endorse the model format of the bilateral investment agreement between the government of Nepal and other countries.

Minister Sharma further shared that the Cabinet meeting approved the resignation submitted by Toyam Raya, Secretary of the Central Statistic Office, and Sabitri Aryal, Joint-Secretary of the Nepal Forest Service Forest Research Group.
