PM Dahal stresses constitutional provisions for women’s rights on International Women’s Day



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has underscored the significance of the constitutional provisions in advancing women’s rights and interests, promoting their meaningful participation in the State apparatus, and achieving gender equality.

In his message on the occasion of International Women’s Day, PM Dahal emphasized the State’s commitment to ensuring policy, legal, and institutional frameworks to empower women.

He highlighted the recognition of women’s rights as fundamental rights in Nepal’s constitution, allowing for their meaningful participation in various levels of government.

PM Dahal praised the establishment of women’s leadership in State bodies and their equal rights to property as significant accomplishments in building a more just society.

He extended tributes to those who have fought tirelessly for women’s political, economic, social, and cultural rights.

Highlighting the government’s special focus on expanding women’s roles in State organs, PM Dahal emphasized the importance of investing in women-targeted programs to enhance access to education, health, employment, and social security.

PM Dahal called for concerted efforts to end all forms of violence, discrimination, and exploitation against women, advocating for equal access to resources and opportunities.

He expressed his wishes for International Women’s Day to inspire greater dedication to women’s participation, empowerment, equality, representation, and capacity building.
