Nepal strikes early against Canada as Rijan claims first wicket in Bilateral Series opener

KATHMANDU: The inaugural match of the Nepal-Canada ODI Bilateral Series saw an early breakthrough for the home team as Rijan Dhakal made an impact in the third over of the second innings.

Rijan Dhakal’s delivery proved too much for Navneet Dhaliwal, one of Canada’s opening batsmen, who managed to score just six runs before losing his wicket. This marked the first breakthrough for Nepal in the match, setting a promising tone for their bowling attack.

In the first innings, after winning the toss, Nepal opted to bat first and set a challenging target of 225 runs for Canada to chase down.

As the match progresses, both teams are expected to engage in a fiercely competitive battle, with Nepal aiming to capitalize on their early success and Canada looking to regroup and build a solid innings.
