KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley is still gripped by winter’s icy embrace.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the morning chill in Kathmandu lingers, with the minimum temperature showing no signs of relenting.
As of the latest measurement at 5:45 a.m. today, the mercury in Kathmandu Valley hovers at a chilly 3.4 degrees Celsius.
The official minimum temperature for today, however, will be recorded at 8:45 a.m.
Wednesday saw the minimum temperature in the Valley drop to 3 degrees Celsius.
The nightly weather changes play a crucial role; cloud cover raises minimum temperatures, while clear skies lead to a drop, according to the Division.
When the minimum temperature is low, the mornings get colder, it said.
During recent weather fluctuations and rainfall, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley rose to 6.7 degrees.
Looking ahead, the Division forecasts a maximum daytime temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius for the Valley today.
Wednesday recorded a maximum temperature of 19.5 degrees Celsius.
Today, Kathmandu Valley is expected to have mainly clear weather, ensuring sunshine with a few clouds in the sky.
