KATHMANDU: Today marks the commencement of a three-match one-day cricket series between Nepal and Canada, hosted on Nepal’s home ground in Kirtipur.

The series opener is scheduled to kick off at 9:15 am at the TU Kirtipur Cricket Ground.

Expressing confidence in his team’s preparedness, Rohit Paudel, the captain of the Nepali national cricket team, said that the Nepali squad is geared up for the upcoming challenges against Canada.

Head coach Monty Desai, sharing his thoughts on the upcoming series, emphasized its competitiveness.

With a blend of both seasoned and emerging players, the team is eager to deliver a commendable performance, he said.

Having already unveiled their 15-member lineup for the series on February 8, 10 and 12 at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal is set to face Canada in what promises to be an engaging cricket spectacle.

Canadian coach Pubudu Dasanayake affirmed the readiness of his team to take on Nepal.

Interestingly, Dasanayake, a successful former coach of Nepal, will face off against Monty Desai, who led Nepal to the World Cup.

The series is thus perceived as a compelling competition between two coaches who have contributed significantly to Nepal’s cricket journey.

Nepali Team Lineup against Canada: Rohit Kumar Paudel (Captain), Asif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Dev Khanal, Kushal Malla, Bhim Sarki, Arif Sheikh, Pawan Saraf, Sompal Kami, Hemanta Dhami, Rijan Dhakal, Surya Tamang, Lalit Rajbanshi, Akash Chand, and Anil Shah.
