NEA cuts off power of Hulas Steel

KATHMANDU: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has cut off the electricity of another industry amidst the controversy over dedicated and trunk lines.

The electricity line of Hulas Steel, operating in the Bara-Parsa Industrial Corridor, was cut off on Monday morning.

The industry owes a total of NPR 432.4 million in bills until the month of Mangsir.

NEA has cut off the lines of 24 industries that owe more than NPR 50 million.

Among them, Himal Steel’s bill installment has been pending, and NEA restored the line after the first installment was paid.

NEA started cutting off the lines of industries that have not cleared dues from December 23.
