NA elections: Candidates filing nominations today

KATHMANDU: As the National Assembly (NA) gears up for the election of 19 members on January 25, candidates are registering their nominations today.

The Election Commission (EC) has stipulated that the nomination registration window is open from 10 am to 3 pm across the offices of election officers situated in all seven provinces of the country.

Candidates are advised that claims, objections, and complaints against their nominations can be filed until January 9.

Following thorough scrutiny of these claims, objections, and complaints, the list of candidates will be published on January 10 and 11.

The window for withdrawal of candidature has been set for January 12, with the final list of candidates scheduled for publication on the same day.

On January 13, the Election Commission will assign election symbols to the candidates.

For the upcoming National Assembly elections, one polling station and two polling centers have been established in each of the seven provinces.
