KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli has praised the significant role of civil servants in driving progressive political changes in the country.

In a message delivered on Civil Servants Day, the Prime Minister highlighted their pivotal contributions during the struggle against autocratic rule and various democratic movements, all while striving for their own professional rights.

Civil Servants Day, observed annually on Bhadau 22 in the Lunar calendar, marks the establishment of a formal civil service structure based on a legal framework.

In his message, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the importance of unity, fairness, and high morale within the civil service sector to advance good governance and development.

He stated, “For this, all civil servants need to enhance their competencies and dedicate themselves honestly to serving the country and its people.”

The Prime Minister underscored the crucial role of civil servants in delivering the benefits of democracy to the people, fostering trust in the state, and meeting national aspirations of a “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis.”

He encouraged civil servants to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, efficiency, and competence with dignity.

Additionally, Prime Minister Oli commended the spirit of volunteerism and dedication exhibited by civil servants during disasters such as floods, landslides, and fires.

He urged them to continue working towards ensuring easy, efficient, and timely service delivery to the public.
