KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division has stated that monsoon air is currently influencing the country with a general weather change occurring across the nation.

Bagmati, Madhesh, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and some areas of Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing light to moderate rain.

This afternoon, the weather will be mostly cloudy throughout the country, with a high likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning in many areas.

Heavy rain is expected in a few places within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with very heavy rain possible in one or two locations in Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, conditions will remain generally cloudy across the country.

Light to moderate rain with lightning is likely in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in a few locations in the remaining provinces.

Heavy rain may occur in one or two spots within Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain is possible in one or two locations across Bagmati, Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.

Meanwhile, the Division has recorded 73 mm rainfall in Kathmandu in the last 24 hours.

According to the Division, Dharan received the highest rainfall of 104 mm, Okhaldhunga 85 mm, Biratnagar 80 mm, Janakpur 74 mm, Jiri 46 mm, Pokhara 30 mm, Bhairahawa 26 mm, Pokhara and Simara 21 mm.
