KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has announced that a new coalition government is being formed with the Nepali Congress (NC) to boost the country’s economy.
Addressing a parliamentary party meeting at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor on Sunday, Oli stated that the alliance with the NC aims to advance stalled development projects and address national needs through a consensus government.
Oli emphasized that the coalition with NC is intended to resolve the nation’s crisis.
He recalled the joint movements with Congress during the 1990 People’s Movement and the 2006 People’s Movement.
Chief Whip of the party, Mahesh Bartaula, informed that the party has decided to urge the current government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ which is now in the minority, to refrain from making any decisions with long-term implications.
He called on Prime Minister Dahal to resign immediately and pave the way for the formation of a national government.
However, Prime Minister Dahal is set to seek a vote of confidence on July 12.
