Taskforce for suggesting reforms in criminal justice submits report to PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: A report on suggestions for reforming the criminal justice administration has been presented before Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The Criminal Justice Administration Reform Study and Suggestion Taskforce headed by Attorney General Dr Dina Mani Pokharel submitted the report before the Prime Minister today.

Receiving the document, the Prime Minister pledged to take the report submissions seriously.

The report revolves around issues noted to be improved regarding the National Penal Code, 2017, the National Criminal Procedure (Code) Act, 2017, and the Criminal Offences (Sentencing and Execution) Act, 2017.

The Attorney General expressed hope for the implementation of the report by the government.

The task force was formed on February 1, 2024.
