Floods, landslides, and inundation wreak havoc across Nepal



KATHMANDU: Heavy rains have led to floods, landslides, and inundation claiming eight lives across Nepal.

According to the Nepal Police headquarters, six individuals are missing and seven have sustained injuries in the wake of this natural disaster.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, spokesperson of Nepal Police, said that road traffic has been disrupted in over 45 locations nationwide.

The casualties include three deaths in Syangja, two in Parbat, one in Kathmandu, and two in Kavre, all swept away by surging rivers.

He reported six people missing: two in Dang, three in Tanahun, and one in Dolakha.

Additionally, seven individuals have been injured in Tanahun, Gulmi, and Okhaldhunga, with further details pending.

The heavy rains on Saturday severely affected daily life across the country.

Rivers like the Koshi and Narayani are swelling, while smaller rivers have overflowed.

In Kathmandu, intermittent rain persists, with showers also reported in several other districts of the country.
