KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) claims that over 50,000 people will participate in the demonstration scheduled for April 9.

Speaking at a press conference held at the party’s central office in Dhumbharahi, Kathmandu, on Sunday, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden stated that all preparations for the demonstration have been completed, and they expect participation from over 50,000 individuals.

He drew attention to the need for appropriate security measures to ensure peaceful demonstrations.

The RPP Chair warned to respond differently if the government issued a prohibition order to stop their demonstration.

Expressing criticism and condemnation, Lingden mentioned the recent trend of issuing prohibitory orders and using baton charges to suppress the opposition party’s demonstrations.

He shared that the demonstration will begin from Bhrikutimandap and will involve a rally around various locations in the city, culminating in a mass meeting.

RPP had previously submitted a 40-point demand letter to the Prime Minister, which included demands such as the restoration of the constitutional monarchy in a parental role, complete religious freedom, declaration of a Hindu Kingdom based on Vedic Sanatan Dharma, immediate prevention of organized, planned, and coercive religious conversion, and establishment of a dual government system—central and empowered local levels—among others.
