Robbers loot Rs 1.5 million in Siraha



SIRAHA: An armed gang looted a ‘money transfer’ outlet in Siraha this afternoon.

Armed individuals robbed Purushottam Yadav of one million and 55 thousand rupees while he was en route from the district headquarters to a money transfer outpost located at Bishnupur Rural Municipality.

The incident occurred near Mahisotha, approximately 500 meters north of the District Police Office, as reported by the District Police Office Siraha.

The robbers, arriving on motorcycles bearing Indian registration plates, intercepted Yadav and seized the money.

Yadav was also riding a motorcycle (Sa 9 Pa 6390).

Additionally, the assailants took two blank cheques from Global IME Bank, three blank cheques from Rastriya Banijya Bank, and a mobile set from Yadav.

The looted amount was intended for remittance to the money transfer outlet operated by Kusheshwar Yadav of Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1.

Deputy Superintendent Muktinath Sapkota, Information Officer at the District Police Office Siraha, confirmed the robbery and stated that the police have launched an investigation, gathering comprehensive details about the incident.
