KATHMANDU: In a firm stance against loan defaulters, newly appointed Finance Minister Barsaman Pun has pledged to take decisive action against individuals promoting the non-repayment of bank loans.

Minister Pun’s statement comes in response to a campaign led by medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai urging individuals not to repay their bank loans.

Addressing bankers at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Minister Pun reiterated the government’s commitment to hold accountable those who refuse to repay their loans and those who advocate for such actions.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has instructed relevant authorities during a Cabinet meeting to take swift action against individuals encouraging loan defaulters, as confirmed by Minister Pun.
