KATHMANDU: India has stormed into the finals of the SAFF U-16 women’s football tournament after an emphatic 10-0 win against Nepal at the Chyasal ground in Lalitpur.

Nepal’s elimination from the tournament was confirmed following this defeat.

Despite starting their journey with a 2-0 loss to Bangladesh, Nepal displayed resilience with a commanding 3-0 victory over Bhutan in their second match.

In contrast, India began their campaign with a commanding 7-0 triumph over Bhutan but faced a setback with a 3-1 loss to Bangladesh in their subsequent match.

India’s victory positions them strongly to face Bangladesh in the tournament finals on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh and Bhutan are set to clash tomorrow in another crucial match.
