Province has become a burden, it should be revoked: Chitra Bahadur KC

KATHMANDU: Former Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC has opined the need to dismiss the current federal system.

He stated that the existing system has created problems in the country due to its structure, emphasizing that the federal system has caused serious issues in the country.

KC mentioned that federalism is not essential for Nepal.

“The Rastriya Janamorcha emphasized not only making the country small by avoiding federalism but also suggested during the constitution drafting process twice that as provinces become a burden for nation, they should be dismissed,” he recalled, adding, “However, currently, everyone seems to have agreed to the point that the provinces have become burdensome.”

KC claimed that the provinces have done nothing except the management of political party leaders in power sharing.
