KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has finalized its lineup for the upcoming National Assembly elections scheduled on January 25.
RPP has selected nine candidates for the National Assembly election, as determined in the party meeting held on Sunday in Kathmandu. Uddhav Paudel has been chosen as the candidate representing Koshi Province.
Within the Bagmati Province, RPP is endorsing candidates in four constituencies: Nanu Nagarkoti for women, Bharatmani Bhatta for minorities, Purna Bahadur BK for the Dalit community, and Hemjan Gurung for other categories.
In the Gandaki Province, Gaumati Shrestha and Rom Bahadur Bhandari have been nominated for women and other categories, respectively.
According to RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, the party has nominated Niranjan Thapa and Bijayalaxmi Singh as candidates for the Lumbini Province.
RPP currently holds only one member in each of the provinces of Madhes, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim in the Provincial Assembly. Hence, the party is preparing for candidacies, provided it gets supporters and proposers for the candidates in those regions.
