Ambulance to be equipped with GPS

KAVREPALANCHOK: Ambulances ferrying patients to and from medical facilities will now be equipped with GPS system.

Chief District Officer of Kavre Rudradevi Sharma shared that a decision has been taken to operate an ambulance with GPS-connection facilities.

The decision was made at the meeting of the District Ambulance Management Committee.

For the purpose of operating ambulances with GPS in the district, a four-member study committee has been formed led by the chief of the district health office, Dhulikhel.

The committee will present its report to the committee within three weeks.

Similarly, it has been decided to publish a notice for the operation of the ambulance service according to the National Ambulance Guidelines-2078 BS.

Local and regional hospitals and health institutions will be requested to install GPS on the ambulances that have been put into operation.

CDO Sharma said that arrangements have been made for the training of ambulance drivers and health workers through the Provincial Ambulance Management Committee.
