Ilam Gold Cup to begin tomorrow



KATHMANDU: The preparations for the Ilam Gold Cup, which boasts a prize pool of Rs one million, have been finalized.

According to Red Horse Football Club Secretary Prakash Ghimire, all arrangements for the tournament, scheduled to take place at Thulo Tundikhel from tomorrow until Deember 14, are complete.

The event will be held at a venue with a seating capacity for 12,000 spectators, including a parapet and stage.

Defending champions New Road Team (NRT) and Sankata Club have already arrived in Ilam to participate in the competition.

Players from Tribhuvan Army, Church Boys, Jhapa’s Red Star, Machhindra Club, and Darjeeling are still en route.

Additionally, the organizing club, Red Horse Club, will also compete in the tournament.

This marks the second edition of the Ilam Gold Cup, which was first organized last year.

The winning team will take home Rs 1 million in prize money, while the runner-up will receive Rs 500,000.

Cash prizes of Rs 25,000 will also be awarded to the best players in various categories.
