25 parties registered for local by-elections

KATHMANDU: A total of 25 political parties have registered for the upcoming local by-elections, scheduled for Mangsir 16.

According to the Election Commission, the registration process was open from Ashwin 10 to 16, during which 25 parties submitted their applications.

Among the registered parties are the Nepal Workers Peasants Party, Mongol National Organization, Nepali Congress, Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal Samajbadi Party, Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), Federal Democratic National Front, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Aam Janata Party, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist), Bahujan Ekta Party Nepal, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Samabesi Samajbadi Party Nepal.

Other registered parties include Hamro Nepali Party, Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist), Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, Nagarik Unmukti Party, National Republic Nepal, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, Nepali Congress (BP), Rastriya Matribhumi Party, Janamat Party, and Nepali Janata Dal.
